Crystal Kay
As mentioned, Crystal Kay Williams is a Japanese pop (J- pop) artist. Her genre actually refers to the influences of the West where it was coined by an FM radio station in order to denote what was once dubbed as "new music." The term is actually widely utilized in the land of the rising sun to define a lot of other types such as rock, dance, soul and hip hop. The history of which can be traced to jazz where it ended becoming very famous in the early Showa period where Emperor Hirohito reigned. It was there that varied instruments were introduced which were formerly applied to military marches to bars and clubs. The element of "fun" was also evident in the many acts of entertainment. As an aftermath, the influence heavily spread all throughout. Going back to Crystal Kay Williams, she attended Kinnick High School when her father was based in Yokosuka. Presently, she is studying at Sophia University where Beni Arashiro, an Avex Trax artist, is also going. It has been reported that both are good friends even when they are seemingly competitors in the industry. Fluent in both English and Japanese, she has also learned French. In 2003, her collaboration with M- Flo was well- promoted. By the time she released her second album, she was making noise in the public. Her song was used as the ending theme of an animated show entitled "Fullmetal Alchemist." It also landed in the top ten hits all over Japan in 2004.
