    Crystal Skull

    A crystal skull is a carved stone modeled of a human skull. The carving differs in size from a few inches to life-size, and although some are made of pure quartz crystal, many others are made of stone found in wealth of the Earth. Various crystal skulls are authentic artifacts from Mesoamerican cultures such as the Aztecs, and are called death heads or skull masks. However, the interest of New Agers is a crystal skull or skulls that originate from Atlantis. The crystal skull from this origin is believed to be endowed with magical powers such as unprompted production of holographic images and the emanation of weird sounds.

    A modern legend alleged that there are thirteen crystal skulls all over the world, of which five have already been found and is said to have mystical powers of ancient origin. Such claims have never been established, and still continue to be unproven.

    Presently, millions of these crystal skulls are being made of various types of metals and stones, and are manufactured in an assortment of sizes for the New Age paratrinket selling, as well as museum imitation market.     Whether the people who claim to be able to use the powers of these skulls are true or not, there is not hard proof that they are mysterious in any way. The only mysterious thing about them is their continued popularity and unrelenting mythology as to their origins and powers.
